Elena-Ana Cernat holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Romanian-Canadian MBA Program / Bucharest Business School (certified by HEC Montreal and the University of Ottawa), with a specialization in Managing the Transition to Sustainability from Bologna Business School, as well as a BA in Philology, Applied Modern Languages.
She has extensive experience in senior management positions at various European banks and financial institutions, including the National Bank of Greece, Credit Europe Bank Romania, BLIK Romania, Cooperativa de Energie, Tirana Bank, Alior Bank Warsaw, Romania Branch, Banca Romaneasca, Idea Bank Romania, Euroline Retail Services, Bancpost, GE Money Romania, Domenia Credit, and the Romanian American Enterprise Fund.

She currently holds senior leadership positions in various banks and financial organizations:

• Since 2025 - Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Converse Bank
• Since August 2024 - Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Credit Europe Bank Romania, Member of the Audit and Risk Committee
• Since March 2024 - Independent Member of the Board of Directors of BLIK Romania
• Since July 2019 - Independent Member of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Greece, Vice-Chair of the Innovation and Sustainability Committee, and Member of the Risk Committee
• In 2023 - March 2024 - Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Tirana Bank (authorized by the Bank of Albania), and Voluntary Member of the Board of Directors of Cooperativa de Energie
  She speaks Romanian, English, French, and Hungarian.
